RTMS Talent Concert Report

The lights, the giant sign, the stars we painted with glow in the dark paint, it all looked spectacular. I felt so proud and satisfied, seeing all the hard work we had put into the RTMS Talent Show pay off. It was a huge success, and being part of the group that organized it was an amazing experience. In fact, it inspired me to get involved in other things and help out with other projects. It helped me find my passion-community service and getting involved.

After the success of the Talent Show, I sought out other ways to get involved in my community. I’ve been a scorekeeper for both volleyball and basketball. I’ve sold food, done sound effects for the school play, sold tickets, and set up for school socials. I’m a proud member of NJHS. I’ve helped out my friends with schoolwork, and given them a listening ear whenever they had a problem.

The things I’ve done, like scorekeeping, may be small, but I hope to do bigger things. I’ve signed up to be a peer tutor, and I can’t wait to start that, because I want to help people who are struggling with something get better at it. I look forward to NJHS events, like helping out at the marathons or hosting the dinner evening next spring. I’d also like to come up with more activities and service opportunities for NJHS, like a karaoke night or a school carnival that raises money for charity. There are lots of great charities that do a variety of good things, like building schools or feeding the homeless. I’d love to raise money for a charity, or even start my own someday, maybe to help the homeless or provide education to people who don't have access to it. There are so many people who don’t have the opportunities I have. They don’t have a roof over their heads, and they lack a good education.
