Although I do agree that RTI is important, I find it frustrating that RTI doesn't have more of a guideline to follow. I have had four principals in the last 5 years in the same district, each one having their own idea on the process. It makes it very difficult to make this intervention successful when that happens. I found it interesting that most schools include special education students throughout all levels of intervention while a few consider special education their highest tier. Our school systems are diverse and it takes many approaches to help students be successful but I feel like RTI is open that it causes it to have many flaws.
