While current ROTC cadets spent the summer break improving themselves and testing their abilities, APSU alumni were also out proving just what they could do. One of these was First Lieutenant Nicholas Kiser, a former cadet at Austin Peay’s ROTC and graduate of their criminal justice program. Kiser, who completed his degree under a full Army scholarship, competed in the prestigious Best Ranger Competition, and earned 6th place out of fifty officer teams. Kiser, who attended school at Hendersonville High School before coming to Austin Peay, commissioned as one of the top of his class and attended Infantry BOLC, Airborne, and Ranger School before competing in the 2016 Best Ranger Competition.
