RHA Reflection

Decent Essays
Over the past the three semesters, I have served as a member of the executive board for RHA. My role in RHA has presented me with the opportunity to address the concerns of my fellow residents and promote a more cohesive community in my hall. Through RHA I have gained insight on how to program events and bring the community together, which resemble a function that Residential Assistants (RA) strive towards achieving. My work in RHA, overlapping with roles of a RA, inspired me to look into potentially becoming an RA. My interest quickly increased, as I learned about how my work in RHA was synonymous with some of the RA’s duties. The fact that I had already had experience in planning and bringing together a community drew towards becoming a leader

My responsibility for this workshop was to proceed with a handover of a patient to an intern (played by Dr. Michael Adamson). This was a particularly disasterous session. My performance was not only unfit within the scope of academic criteria, but was clearly short of acceptable for a real-world SBAR. During the reading of the scenario I was daunted by the task of having to SBAR report a patient to admission at a hostpital, based on information I was reading for the first time; my practice with the hand-over system was minimal prior to the session.…

Through my involvement at the UCSD Student-Run Free Clinic and at FSA Community Program I learned to work in a team and to always share the same goal as my teammates. This common goal is to give the best and most accurate service to the patient at the clinic, the same goal was shared during my time at FSA. These teamwork experiences have also taught me to provide, accept and use feedback from the members of my group, and to always adapt, improve and develop new skills. Through these three activities, I was able to reinforce my reliability and resilience. By volunteering at a hospital and clinic, I was able to meet different types of patients with very different backgrounds and cultures, which allowed me to reinforce my cultural competence,…

The goal of this paper is to inform those about an experience that I got a chance to do. Recently, I was able to shadow my current manager at Wind Crest Assisted Living. When getting this assignment and reading through the expectations I was really excited to get the chance to shadow my manager because I have dreamed of one day doing the same thing that she is doing now once I get my degree. My manager just recently came onto the Wind Crest Assisted Living team and has been a blessing ever since. In her first four weeks, she was destined to go over and make sure every residents care plan was up to date and if changes needed to be made, they were.…

Over the course of studying E214 I have thought greatly about my own practice working as an HLTA in a mainstream primary school, where I mainly work with children that experience barriers to learning. These barriers are due to the children having special educational needs or due to having English as an additional language. I now question whether the children I work with are part of a system that has created othering and if through them being othered they included as fully as possible or are they still subject to exclusion through the barriers they experience when accessing the national curriculum or through their progress not being as high as expected by society. (online unit 17) The focus of education appears to be about the grades and progress…

I'm glad to help you! I probably spent 30 min out of class time on AP Physics and Chem-- I honestly just worked really hard in class and did my HW/reviewed my notes the night before tests. That's totally dependent on how good your teachers are and your own natural ability in the sciences. I did a minimal amount of outside work for Lang, only really for projects because we did all our essays in class. APUSH took like hours each night, because it was a lot of reading and I'm a slow reader.…

The course AFAS 160 D1 is my first online class, and until now I still felt lucky to choose this class as one of my general education classes, because it gave me a great opportunity and an eye-opening experience about learning the African American Culture which I have never learned before and also gave me a chance to learn online. Describing this course to someone else, I would say this class is interesting and if you want to learn this class well, you need to prepare the Voice Thread and read the book carefully. To be honest, making videos on Voice Thread gave me a unique experience. I still remembered the first time I made a video on Voice Thread how nervous I was, I was afraid to have different ideas with other students and worried if they disagreed with me what should I do?…

The first few days of school are always the toughest, the lack of insight a student may have on the teaching methods and format of the class can be overwhelming. Fortunately, there are facilitators, such as yourself I might add, that make the transition quick and easy. With that, I am eager to start this course and am ready to learn and better grasp the topic of US history. Like many of your APUSH students, I suspect, I am a Junior currently attending Las Lomas High School. As a student for about 11 years, I can honestly say my learning process is ever-changing and improving as time passes.…

Resident Assistants are one of the first friendly faces students meet when they move in on campus. They are welcoming and kind human beings who are ready to help their residences, or any members of the Suffolk community, at any point of time. Personally, I aspire to become a Resident Assistant for multiple reasons. The first being that I thoroughly enjoy being friendly and kind. Being nice to people is a characteristic that is just instilled within me, which I believe is a good quality to possess while obtaining this position.…

It is integral to my vision that all children will make outstanding progress at Revel. In my view, this progress should be made in the children’s spiritual, social, moral, and cultural education as well as in the more traditional academic subjects. The way to achieve this is through creating a ‘learning culture’ in the school in which all stakeholders such as the Church, teachers, support staff, the wider community and first and foremost the children themselves, regard learning as an enjoyable, lifelong process which has intrinsic value. The outcome of such an education should be far more than ensuring that the children are ‘secondary ready’; it should guarantee that children are confident individuals who have the independence needed to take responsibility for their own learning and behaviour. An outstanding education would enable children to make informed choices concerning social and ethical issues, develop their spiritual and cultural awareness, and provide them with the academic…
