PER REPORTER: Cherish said Alivia has been CPS’s custody before and was placed with her aunt (Roberta) who was allowing the child to stay with her mother (Juanita) while having custody of her. Cherish said Roberta said there was nothing stating the child could not be with her mother. Cherish said Juanita gained back custody of Alivia on 2-21-18 and since then the school staff has noticed the is child spiral downhill. Cherish said she is concerned because Alivia has never acted this way and the school is concerned about her wellbeing and safety. Cherish said Alivia reports not wanting to stay with her mother because there is no food in her home and because she does not spend time with her. Cherish said Alivia told her the only thing she has to eat at her mother’s house is canned food. It is unknown at this time if Juanita receives food stamps for the child or if she works. Cherish said she confronted Roberta about the child reporting there being no food in her mother’s house because she still had custody of the child during the time. Cherish mentioned that Roberta told her Juanita’s home being without food was not true. Cherish said she believes Roberta was aware of how Alivia felt about being in her mother’s care but she still sent her anyways. Cherish said Alivia got into a fight at school and had in school and out of school suspicion. Cherish also mentioned that on 2-20-18 Alivia was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center for fighting with her mother. Cherish said she was told while Alivia was at the detention center she was on suicidal watch, but she said she is not sure why the child was on suicide watch. Cherish said while Alivia was still in Roberta’s care she stated she will hurt herself if she has to stay with Juanita. Cherish said the school requested for Roberta to pick the child up from school and take her to have a mental evaluation
