Struggle and Pain

Of all the things I could have been, a Producer is what I am. I have been through many phases in my life thus far and music is the one constant that has never let me down. I’ve been an athlete, playing basketball from age 5. Participated in just about every sport with a ball until injuring my knee. I’ve been a Soldier, fighting wars and traveling the world. That too came to an end. Through it all I still have music. The subject for my report is R. Kelly. Why R. Kelly, you may ask. It’s because he has been through so much in his life up to now and still continues to be successful doing what he loves and thats make music. (2016) Very much like so many countless others R. Kelly was a victim of sexual abuse at a young age for some time between ages seven and fifteen at the hands of an undisclosed female relative. This situation alone can mess a person up for life. Some can argue that it did. Kelly he to me is confirmation that nothing is ever easy. I didn’t even touch on the fact that his mother died from cancer in 1993 after returning from over seas when his career was just taking off. Nor did I bring up the death of Aaliyah. R. Kelly has endured much during his climb to and some would say decent from the top of the Pop and R&B Charts but I know some of his best is yet to come. Erick Bellringers Trap Soul is the latest of albums to have R.Kelly on the list of Producers and is setting a new trend or maybe a blend of 90’s R. Kelly with todays “Trap”. What I know for certain is R. Kelly is a very talented Producer, Writer, and Artist who has hits and classics that date back to the early 90’s.
