Your book Wonder was more than just a book to me. I was born three months early with low blood platelets and multiple deforms on my body. All these things never became a problem until my first year of middle school and I started to get sick more often and the spots on my skin became more prominent. How did you come up with the ways people would make fun of August, because even if you think it’s wrong for people to judge him for the way it looks to make the book realistic you had to include it in the novel even if it felt wrong. When you were coming up with ideas were you using real life events that you have seen or accidentally done yourself. Because we all know even how much we try you are going to end up slightly staring or pointing at someone who looks different. For example, i personally know what it feels like for people to stare and point and not even notice my face or new hair cut because they are too busy staring at my skin marks, but sometimes i still accidentally end up staring at someone who looks different
