I would like to thank Clara Caldwell and the Tideland Houston Chapter- A. Phillip Randolph Institute for what they represent: Dedication, Commitment, and Hard work. I have only met a few people in my life who were as enthusiastic about hard work as Clara Caldwell. I have learned so much from her example and experience. Behind every professional success of an organization there is always a beautiful mind like Clara’s.…
It is a great pleasure to recommend Rachel Sitasz for admission to the Edward Hospital Student Volunteer Program. She is one of the most empathetic, kind, and exceptional humans I have encountered in my 14 years of teaching. I teach Rachel in my 8th grade advanced ELA class. Her academics, character, innate curiosity, intrinsic motivation, ethical standards, and unwavering desire to give back, have put Rachel in a class of her own. In fact, for the first time in over 25+ years, the eighth-grade team created a brand new end-of-the-year award for our graduation awards assembly.…
Leadership, 3D1X2 is a big career field and split up into many shops. Because of this we rely on each other to accomplish the mission. However! Some of us are trained in many aspect of this career field and although we know how to perform the mission of the other shops and volunteer to do so in order to make the communication squadron more efficient we are told to stand down. Me being prior Network Integration and 1 of 2 military part of the BITI upgrade that installed/updated all 370 networks on base in 7 months.…
Extracurricular activities like the FFA and 4-H Organizations, help students, like me, gain experience in a variety of areas that will enhance our future. Through participation in these organizations, I have learned cooperation, teamwork and time management. By serving as an officer, I have also gained responsibility, as well as problem solving and communication skills. FFA has opened doors to new leadership roles at both a local and multi-county level. I have been given the opportunity to serve as Teutopolis Chapter and Section 20 Reporter and Vice President.…
I hope to get an opportunity to improve the University of Redlands community by getting the youth in the area schools excited about learning an instrument. It is my belief that playing a musical instrument brings out things in you that you never thought possible. If it wasn't for my joining orchestra in fourth grade, I believe I would be a completely different person than I am today. My dream is to make sure that I can help as many kids as possible find themselves through music.…
I would like to serve as a Regional FFA Officer to give back to others and expand my reach to help others in need and to be a friend to those in need of one. We have in our motto “Living to Serve” may we serve our fellow man and fellow members to the best of our abilities. My greatest gift is the gift to teach and help others. This is a gift that is absolutely useless if not used to help others. I enjoy helping others, and I, like everyone else, and someone who helped me.…
1St position: President After serving as the meeting facilitator for this previous term, I am interested in serving as NHS President because serving the community has always been an integral part of my identity and something that I genuinely enjoy doing. NHS has proven to be influential, and its credibility and scope will continue to bring more individuals to appreciate service. As someone who enjoys community service and recognizes its value, I would like to lead this organization in persisting and expanding its impact. I believe that my passion and dedication to NHS and community service in general makes me the best candidate for this position. As President of this organization, there will be a multitude of underclassmen and students who…
1. What are your reasons for applying to Rutgers University School of Social Work? Discuss how your personal, professional, and/or community experiences and values affected your decision? The most important influence for pursing a graduate degree at Rutgers University School of Social Work is to break down barriers and obstacles that have been placed in front of me.…
Since my freshman year of high school, my passion for agriculture has flourished. I did not come from an agricultural background as my parents worked for the State and Amtrak, but I was intrigued about California’s leading industry. Up until my freshman year in high school, the closest I had gotten to agriculture was when I would grow a garden of vegetables during the spring for fresh produce. I became involved in my school’s FFA chapter and was infatuated with the FFA from the start. I saw it as a way to become involved as well as to expand my leadership and social skills.…
When asked the question, “Why do you want to become an RPLS major?” I automatically think of this past year. A year ago, I was unsure what I wanted to do as a career. I had declared a major in Athletic Training, but I wasn’t set on making it my career. I was having a conversation with a friend one day, and she advised me to look into the RPLS major.…
As a student who is currently learning science and taking place in a science extra-curricular, I can say that I have developed a passion and interest for it. Technology, another area in S.T.E.M., which I find captivating, shows us that technological advancements can truly change the world and make fascinating discoveries. It is science and technology, and all areas of S.T.E.M. that help us better understand our world. Discoveries made in other areas of study can all be rooted back to science, technology, engineering, and math. I believe I am a suitable candidate for this program because I understand that studying areas in S.T.E.M. are the foundation for making improvements and advancements in all other aspects of life.…
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary a garage is “a part of a building where cars, truck etc., is kept” but today’s teenagers have completely redefined this term. It has become a place where discoveries have been made, companies such as Apple have been started, and interests have been pursued. Experiences like these are where we learn the most from and sense the taste of failure. Rocket Science is considered one of the hardest fields in engineering today, but for someone as obsessed as me, undergraduate education seems decades away. This obsession towards rockets had forced me to invest my summer towards ascertaining more about my growing interest in rockets.…
I am writing to you to show my interest in working at the Community Experience day programs this summer. Over this past summer and winter, I worked as a floater at the following programs: Act, Twenty, Thirty, Focus, Ability, Faust Hall, Enable, and Strive. I would love nothing more than to continue my work in the day programs that I have experience with and to also build new experiences with the programs I have not had the chance to work with yet. My previous experience in working with the Kennedy Center will not only benefit the consumers but will also help me gain even more experience for my future endeavors. I have already learned so much from my previous experiences at the Kennedy Center, and I am eager to learn more.…
Manifest Your Reality I think we humans create our own reality by our feelings, thoughts and our beliefs. We try to do what we think is right. When you want something in life you will do everything to get there. You will not let anyone get in the way.…
When people ask me to describe myself, I always draw a blank, I never know what to say, I’m caught off guard because I don’t really love talking about myself too often because I am someone who likes to listen rather than to talk. I always have to think about what I should say to make a good impression on whomever is asking me the question. There is a lot about me that you can see by just looking at me; I have short brunette hair, I’m short, hazel eyes, I’m quiet, and more. However, there are certain personality traits about me that every single person I know on a personal basis can tell you; I am candid, I am shy, and I am very loving. I am candid and by candid, I mean I am always very truthful and frank.…
