The book “The Huntress” is about the world not having any energy to make the seasons happen. The people were all suffering because they couldn't get any food to grow. Hostile creatures were emerging from the Wood as a result of the lack of nutrients and attacking people. Kaede and Taisin had been called to go on a quest to Tanlili and meet the Fairy Queen to fix this problem. The conflict in this book is to get the world going again before the humans won't be able to survive any longer. Kaede and Taisin went with Con, Pol, Shae and Tali to meet the Fairy Queen. I believe the author wanted to tell the reader about life. The quotes talked about how nobody should or could change the world, this might be about how Elowen managed to change the earth but there was consequences. The text says “Some seek to act upon the world, But success will not follow. The world is inviolable: it has no beginning and no end. Those who seek to change it will be changed; Those who grasp onto stones will find water. -Book of Changes” Malinda wants to explain the book and show that even though the earth has been drained from its power, whoever is attempting to destroy it will not succeed. This was true because Elowen didn’t manage to demolish the earth. She was stopped and her dreadful actions cost her, her life, The author also has a message that applies to life and not the book. It was all about strenuous decisions that were required to accomplish something. Kaede had to kill Elowen to save the earth but now she has to live with the burden of taking someone’s life. The author wants to say that you should understand what you’re about to do and think carefully about your decisions because you could end up regretting it
