2. “Later we heard that Strunk died somewhere over Chu Lai, which seemed to relieve Dave Jensen of an enormous weight.” (p. 63)
This quote is from the chapter “Friends”. This story is about Jensen and Lee Strunk, they are enemy before but they became friend. One day, Struck stepped on a rigged mortar round and it blew his right leg off at the knee. He begged Jensen not to kill him. Strunk did not believe him, but Jensen does as he was asked and he does not kill Strunk. Strunk dies as he is being airlifted out. It seemed to relieve Dave Jensen of an enormous weight because he felt so sorry for Strunk.
