I laid down on my bed, thinking of reasons why he could've left. Maybe he doesn't like me anymore. That could be it, after what happened a few days ago, it doesn't seem unreasonable.

I laid my head on the table, looking at her. "You remember Daniel?" She nodded, looking worried again, but this worry was more of a heartbroken son worried. "I thought I would never fall in love again, but." I giggled a bit, looking at my mom. "Well, I have a new boyfriend now, and-"

"You have a new boyfriend?" I nodded, smiling. "And you never thought to tell me? Tristan, he could be a drug dealer or, or a gang member or a shoplifter." I laughed at this, trying to imagine Eddie as a bad person.

"Momma, he's scared of sleeping without a nightlight. And he's like, four feet tall. Not to mention, he only wears pink and stuff like that."

She gave me that look, as if she didn't believe me. "Can you bring him right now?" I shook my head, the table starting to hurt my head. "He's on his way to New Jersey." I put my hands under my head, the feeling more comfortable.
