The book opens with a sniper killing five innocent people in a public square in Indiana, USA, and leaving behind an unbelievable amount of trace evidence. The sniper was easily tracked down and identified as James Barr, a retired Army sniper. However, this was too perfect for Jack Reacher the protagonist of this book.

Lee Child captivates his reader with suspense, tension and excitement as the main elements of the book. “You’re going to find out the hard way. I’m counting in my head. When I reach my birthday. I’m going to pull the trigger.” A thriller provides the sudden rush of excitement and exhilaration that drive the narrative. “One look at this guy and you know he’ll do anything to survive. One look at me and he knew I wasn’t
