Imagine a renegade former Military Police officer who informed you that he will be out to get you, should you ever reoffend. It would be similar to a constant fear and beg you to question “what if?” thus keeping you from a life of crime, for fear of the consequences.
You may still desire to practice your art, for example marksmanship, however you would be aware that you escaped a murder charge once before, you would also live with the knowledge that he is in your blind spot. This book called “One Shot” originated from "One shot, one kill," the military sniper's creed. One Shot is the ninth book in the Jack Reacher series written by Lee Child.

Lee Child captivates his reader with suspense, tension and excitement as the main elements of the book. “You’re going to find out the hard way. I’m counting in my head. When I reach my birthday. I’m going to pull the trigger.” A thriller provides the sudden rush of excitement and exhilaration that drive the narrative. “One look at this guy and you know he’ll do anything to survive. The literature I will be focusing on in my analysis is Seth Stoughton’s “Law Enforcement’s ‘Warrior’ Problem”, published in the Harvard Law Review journal on 10 April 2015. Stoughton explains how he believes policing is currently done. Which is with a “warrior” mentality that officers are trained to have and how that mentality negativity shapes how the police view, and interact with, civilians by making the officer view everyone as a threat and ensuring the officer requires unchallenged dominance and respect in every interaction. Stoughton says this has created a divide between police and civilians, which is detrimental to the safety of both police officers and civilians. Stoughton explains how he believes policing should be done, with a “guardian”…

I believe that in the novel, jack is changing to a murderer. You could see that because, in the beginning he was scared to kill a pig, then in the middle he slaughtered a pig not even caring about the meat, and with no hesitation and at the end, they killed Simon and tried to hunt down and murder Ralph. In the beginning of the book jack was not a murderer because he was hesitating to kill a pig for food, even though he was, hungry he didn't kill because he is scared of the kill. War stories are gruesome. They capture the reality of war--death, grief, and pain. “The Sniper” and “Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” (by Liam O’Flaherty and Tim O’Brien respectively) are both shining examples of this; unpacking the glorification of victory to reveal how humans are dehumanized and trained to kill other people. Their differences outline a common theme: how war dehumanizes people from killing and guilt, and how that all builds into a catastrophe later on in life.…
