Commentary Context
Wendy’s failing on her test makes Eddie act as the big guy, helping her gain confidence. Eddie cheers her up by being sweet, comforting and encouraging. Eddie looks at Wendy as a non- patheic achiever who’s able to do anything. This shows that Eddie is a gentlemen who’s able to sweet talk with girls. Making a banner to congratulate her (even though she failed) showed that Eddie really cares and appreciate Wendy’s existence in his life. Even as a friend, Eddie goes the extra mile for Wendy because he cares for her. In the beginning of Scene 9, Eddie is holding a congratulations banner for Wendy on passing her driving test. It turns out she didn’t, but this act of Eddie shows generosity and sweetness. Eddie cheers Wendy up by encouraging her forget her mistakes and move on. Eddie compliments her and advises her to try again, move on and remember that nothing bets her talents.

Commentary Context Although his speech seems weird in an obsession way, it’s his feelings. Everything he said was true. He thinks about Wendy day and night, hoping to make her his one day. Eddie really loves Wendy, and being friends has been going on for a while now. Eddie hopes to get out of the friend zone. Eddie is practicing how he’ll confess his love to Wendy. He says this out loud, hoping it’ll sound romantic. His choice of words show that he’s in love with Wendy. Her personality descriptions proves that he loves just everything about
