Quit Math Subject

Decent Essays
Math has always been a difficulty for me because math is very hard in general and takes lots of effort to understand. I somewhat struggled in middle school because in like the 6th and the 7th grade I easily achieved high scores on majority of my tests and assessments. Then in 8th grade I had a really difficult time on understanding the new concepts the class learned such as the equation y=mx+b because it was really different from what I'm use to. In the past, when I struggled on a problem I felt angry and always wanted to quit. I would also feel the urge to just scream and just slam my head to the wall if I made a mistake on a problem.

In the past I would want to quit but would stay strong and continue to work until I can solve the problem.

I have had many moments recalling fond memories of the first time I stayed away from home by myself. It was at ALERT Academy in Sandy Springs Texas, and the program was called Skills Training for Emergency Preparedness, or STEP. The program was designed for Christian young ladies and was set up similarly to what I imagine boot camp would be like, though not as strict. While I was there, I learned canoeing, search and rescue, CPR, first aid, AED training, survival training, basic home maintenance, repelling, river crossing, and I even trained for a 3k run. While I had a great time there, I still found some aspects of the trip rather trying of my patience.…
