My first year not playing basketball I regretted my decision to quit. Being a spectator in the bleachers, I longed to be out on the court with my friends. It wasn’t until my junior year when I finally understood that quitting basketball had taught me a life lesson. Most of my free time was occupied at my church, which became very important to me. I was then given the opportunity to be the youth band leader at my church due to my active involvement and musical talents. I am now in charge of rehearsals, song choices, and performances. I often play in the Sunday morning worship band, which is an exciting experience. Being at my church consistently helped me stretch my faith. I made great friends, and we decided to start a bible study for the high schoolers. We meet weekly, and I have a blast getting to know God and my friends better each
