In my opinion, playing high school sports is one of the best extracurricular activities in high school. My freshman year I participated in football, basketball, and golf. I had fun playing each of these sports, and I took pleasure in being highly involved in hobbies outside of class. However, after my freshman year, I felt that I was too busy and needed to cut back on what I was involved in. So I decided to quit basketball. At first I thought it was a mistake to quit because I had been on a traveling team since third grade. Not only that, but many people commented on my height potential which made the decision to quit much more difficult. I was indecisive when it came to quitting, but I made the decision to no longer play basketball.

It wasn’t until my junior year when I finally understood that quitting basketball had taught me a life lesson. Through this experience I learned how to prioritize and reduce the amount of activities I was in. I continued to participate in extracurriculars that were interesting to me, and I did not let anyone else influence my decisions. Reducing the amount of activities I was involved in allowed me to

Most of my free time was occupied at my church, which became very important to me. I was then given the opportunity to be the youth band leader at my church due to my active involvement and musical talents. I am now in charge of rehearsals, song choices, and performances. I often play in the Sunday morning worship band, which is an exciting experience. Being at my church consistently helped me stretch my faith. I made great friends, and we decided to start a bible study for the high schoolers. We meet weekly, and I have a blast getting to know God and my friends better each
