Quick Defensive Transition Analysis

Throughout these clips it is apparent that the teams involved (T1-Scarlet, T2- Lavander, T2- lime, T1- Lemon) employ a quick defensive transition strategy after losing the attack, to try and interrupt the oppositions offensive play (Hewitt, Greenham & Norton, 2016). By restricting movement through the action rule ‘once tagged the person in possession of the ball can no longer move’ effective playing spaces between opposing players is limited thereby allowing the defensive team to apply pressure, and create opportunities to regain attack (0:11, 0:21, 0:33, 0:54, 1:24). According to Casal, Andujar, Losada, Arda & Maneiro (2016) fast defensive transitions that put the offensive team under pressure for 0 to 15 seconds are more likely to recover

Also Many of times I've played a game when it's come down to the last play before our goals of Victory have been diminished by the other teams last drive,or even the last play of the game and we end up with a loss, it's because we as a team let ourselves get complacent, and over confident with a 9,14,28 point lead. I feel like I really need to Hamilton the most because he was determined to follow his dream. He went out of his way every time and said, “Don’t throw away your shot”. When I first heard that quote I felt amazed because that is true, sometimes we take a sometimes we take for granted our shot and we mess up. As listening to Hamilton you can tell that he made mistakes and I know I have to but just listening to him he learned that a new shot can come around and you should take it because you know you can make a difference if you just believe. The one thing I had admired about him was this other quote, “I may not live to see to see our glory, but I will gladly join the fight" what's to me I find relatable.…

Dodging enables changes of direction to take place within a game of netball. When performed correctly, a dodge challenges the defending player, making it more difficult to obstruct and intercept the played ball. It can cause the dynamics of the game to change completely, allowing you to avoid the defender by a sudden quick movement. I play wing attack, and occasionally goal attack, therefore it is my job to pass the ball up the court and into our goal. In order to do this, I regularly break free from my defending player by using either a single, double or sprint dodge.…
