Quetz Reflection

After our now unwelcomed guests had departed, I knew I had to get more information on the victim’s disappearance. “Phew” I said, who would’ve thought a dame such as that could put so much pressure on a guy like me. Damn! roughly 3 hours passed by...I know that’s not one of Quetz’s abilities so she must of some time warping ability. It would explain why she could move so fast without any real change in visual movement. Honestly why would Quetz choose her as his “insurance”. Everyone knows that no one really know’s….. well anything about her! She’s a complete enigma, and most people don’t even know she exists. If I remember correctly the symbols on her stomach are similar to the ones in the archives, first I’ll go and see If I can find more information about Jade Rabbit before I decide to …show more content…
I matched what symbols I knew with the ones I saw on Jade Rabbit….These symbols seem to be from an ancient text I got my hands on after visiting Dracula's castle. It was in his “forbidden domain” as he likes to call it...him and his secrets...he’s all for the dramatization of any situation. I may or may not have pilfered through his “forbidden domain” during a house party or two. I mean when you make a hidden compartment to your coffin so easy to find...well let’s leave that story for another day. The text states that Jade Rabbit is actually a creature that was made to erase huge threats to the development of this world….Hmm makes sense why Hitler was unexplainably killed in the 20th century...he would have set back countless developmental opportunities. We probably wouldn’t have this racial equality dynamic between the old-ones progeny and the human race’s progeny. Regardless… it seem that she isn’t really bound by time like normal people are...I’ll have to test this to make sure….but It seems that this case may have world changing affects...What fun have I gotten myself into now! Excited by the intriguing situation I seem to have found myself in, I decided it was time to

Foua Yang, Lia’s mother is an intricate character formed by the trials she has faced in her life and her rich culture. All of this attributed to the way she cares deeply for Lia and remains faithful to her Hmong culture. Our personalities are similar in many ways, so if I were to be the social worker of this case I feel as though I could relate and gain trust from Foua in order to better care for Lia and respect the Hmong culture in the process. Lia’s mom, Foua and I have a lot in common as far as what we are passionate about, but are very different in life experience.…

The authors of The Terrible Things, Speech, and Night use symbolism and repetition to teach the lesson that people should be warned to help stop things like the Holocaust from happening. In both The Terrible Things and Night the authors use symbolism to warn us to prevent things like the Holocaust by explaining that if you don’t speak up when things are wrong you may regret it. On pages 6 and 7 of The Terrible Things the author writes “The rabbits scampered in every direction. ‘Help!’…

If they stay in a society for too long, people will notice that they aren’t aging. On page 9 Angus said “Better not do that,” after Mae said she was going to ride to Treegap. He said that because if anyone remembered her, they’d notice she has not aged for ten years. On page 42, Mae said, “Always moving around without any friends or anything.” If they made friends, the friends would eventually notice they don’t age, and they’d have to leave before that.…

Pilsen Excursion Reflection Like any other community in Chicago, Pilsen has it's own identity. Both locations are incomparable as each one has something to offer to the mélange of identities that comprise what we know as Chicago. The assortment of museums, college hangout locations, as well as a few park districts present in Lincoln Park create a combination of urban comfort with a touch of natural beauty. Pilsen's initial impression reveals a neighborhood filled with color, not necessarily from park districts, but from the murals on display around every corner.…

    Curanderismo Reflection

Curanderismo has been a presence in my life since I was very young. Growing up in a small community in Northern New Mexico ensured that I was exposed to traditional medicine and alternative forms of spirituality. This class was not my first exposure to curanderismo, though many of the readings and videos helped clarify and explain many of the elements of curanderismo that had been present in my life, but had not been explained. Curanderismo is just as much of a form of cultural expression as it is a form of traditional healing. Personally, curanderismo is a link to my cultural and family history, helping to continue traditions that my family has had for generations.…

During the interactive oral I feel my understanding of the cultural and contextual elements of the work helped me develop a better understanding of why the murder of Santiago Nasar occurred. The discussion talked over: why the brothers murdering Santiago was socially acceptable in this rural area, as well as how certain characteristics or actions were normals of their society. An example being machismo being a huge aspect of Colombia’s culture. Jina Malone and I connected together how the brothers were following what was culturally acceptable and doing the murder in a sort of honor killing. After reviewing my own research and listening to my peers; I learned that this honor killings were a morally acceptable thing.…

My first initial impression of the novel was quite surprising. First of all, this story is not like most slave narratives. For instance, Equiano had a very close relationship with his masters and captains, “he was to me a friend and a father” (Equiano 110). Although, it is hard to remember which master he belongs to as he is telling his story. Perhaps, Equiano might be doing this on purpose so that we understand how many times he was sold and traded throughout his life.…

If I raised my voice it was not directed towards Major Trevino. My raised voice was simply a display of the emotional frustration I was feeling in general about all the issues listed above. It was never my intention to offend Major Trevino personally or him as a leader. In my defense, I feel that if Major Trevino really had a problem with my voice as he say being unprofessional by my voice rising, then he could have stopped the meeting. I then asked why it has to be this way… Why it has to be this way with management…please tell me why”.…

Over the course of studying E214 I have thought greatly about my own practice working as an HLTA in a mainstream primary school, where I mainly work with children that experience barriers to learning. These barriers are due to the children having special educational needs or due to having English as an additional language. I now question whether the children I work with are part of a system that has created othering and if through them being othered they included as fully as possible or are they still subject to exclusion through the barriers they experience when accessing the national curriculum or through their progress not being as high as expected by society. (online unit 17) The focus of education appears to be about the grades and progress…

In Chinese zodiac telling, it pairs with each zodiac a set of numbers that prove either good or bad luck. For the Rabbit, these numbers were 3,4, and 9 as the lucky numbers, and the numbers 1,7, and 8 as the unlucky numbers. Much like the numbers, there are also a set of certain colors that also represent good or bad luck. In the case of the Rabbit, red, pink, purple, and blue are lucky colors.…

During my sophomore year at Southern Maine community College, I was invited to the Phi Theta Kappa international honor society, and was elected as the vice president of service for our chapter, Alpha Chi Nu. Every year we pursue a certain academic area that pertains to relevant issues. During the semester, we focused on a political and scientific based issue, fossil fuels and it’s heavy influence on the college system. With little experience in politics and business, my influence and aide in the team had come from my strong scientific background in comparison with my teammates. We had found out, that the Maine Community College System had investments involving fossil fuels, amounting to one million dollars. Having little knowledge in politics, my political science and business owner colleagues and myself…
