To begin with, the site provides an overview of the issue a synopsis. By providing the accurate definition of mental disorder. Furthermore, the importance of mental health is then shared. We need to understand that our mental health plays a huge role in our day-to-day lives. “Mental health disorders are the leading cause of disability in the United States and Canada, accounting for 25 percent of all years of life lost to disability and premature mortality”, my question to you is why not create a program to develop and implement health promotion. The objective portion shows the statistics on the issue, so that we can have a number to work on decreasing. Intervention and resources is the game plan, there to help those who are ill and provide resources for them to get well, and cope with the issue in a healthy manner.
2. Chapter 1: Describe “Jahoda’s Model of Mental Health.” List the 5 criteria and describe each.
• Essential characteristic of mental health with 5 criteria. Being realistic- not going beyond your means, able to compare yourself with others. Self-acceptance- accept your flaws and be happy with who you are. Investment in living- having long-term goals in life, and achieving them. Independence- being able to make decisions on your own. Environmental mastery- being able to get along with others, have empathy for others as well.

4. Chapter 2: This chapter presents 7 settings for mental health education and promotion. Describe which of these 7 settings would you be most interested in working in mental health? What is attractive about this setting and the people in this setting?
• I found the community settings to be most interested to me because I really want to give back to my community. Many times when you hear “I want to give back to my community”, the first thing you think of is donations. I would like to give back in a different manner. I would like to share my knowledge with my community. Being the voice for a healthy lifestyle, encouraging others to look after their health because it will help them in a long run. What’s significant about this setting is you have the option in working one-on-one with the individual,
