a. Yes, thanks to a helpful desk clerk, I was actually able to find many foods that are probably genetically modified including soda, corn tortillas, chips, oils, and even some cereals.

a. As a consumer the only way to know for sure if the food you are eating is GMO or not is one to keep up with the types of foods that are being genetically modified, be aware of the types of food that you are eating, and eat more locally grown foods that are not grown using modified seeds.
b. " The House has passed the Safe and Affordable Food Labeling Act (H.R. 1599) to regulate the labeling of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food. The legislation will prevent states and other localities from enacting mandatory labeling of food that contains GMOs, while at the same time setting up a voluntary non-GMO certification to be run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. I grow majority of my food such as vegetables, fruits, nuts and even my fish and chicken. I have a working relationship with a local farmer that uses heirloom seeds for planting that supplies me with the Amish mix of feed for my chickens. I have done all that I can possibly do to ensure that my family get healthy and safe food. That being said I am the first person to admit I love a Doritos and Mt. Dew so I am definitely not completely opposed to all GMO 's. I honestly feel that like most things that GMO 's consumed in moderation are fine, however I would suggest that many people start eating more fresh, locally grown
