I believe that all of these are pertinent questions that should be asked by the principal or the management team. All of these questions will give the management team a slight inside into the personality and desires of the candidate in question. If students are excited for the candidate and want to learn from the candidate classroom performance would increase. The candidate would be able to explain to the students what he/she would be able to provide to the students, from teaching, tutoring, and afterschool activities. All teachers will have different ideas and abilities to accomplish the ideas that he/she has, but if they can get the students interest in a study or an activity the teacher has accomplished a huge task. A candidate would be able to explain what makes him/her different from all other teachers and what will set him/her apart to the students.

This is a good question but should not be asked by a student. A candidate could explain what makes a great teacher to them but the student’s interest will only be in hearing “no homework.” This question if needed would be better asked by the principal or other teachers.

Knowing why a candidate is leaving his/her current job can give insight to how they will work at your school. If a candidate is leaving his/her current job because of issues with the faculty it might lead into issues of the same at the new school, but if he/she is leaving because the new school is a better school and fit for the individual it could lead to being a very good thing for the school. Asa teacher there is a large burden on the individual to make the learning environment a great fit for each student. If there is a struggling student the teacher will have to get the parents involved to keep the child’s focus and interest in the class. How a teacher will get the parents involved in the child’s school work is an important issue. If a teacher cannot successful get the parents involved in the child’s school work the child will continue to struggle in the class and will lead to an unsuccessful student. Most people will have a slight sense of humor or a non-stop sense of humor but as a teacher you need to be able to break the ice in the classroom and with parents. A person that is always serious will be slightly off putting to some people and it can lead to misunderstanding with students and teachers. A sense of humor is important but there is also a line when it comes to joking and “playing around” in the classroom, which has to be known and is
