Quentin Tarantino's directorial debut, "Reservoir Dogs," has remained a part of my top ten films since I first saw it a few years ago, and having just finished the crime classic again, I'd like to share my views and reflections on its thrilling story. As a stunning debut from an unknown director at the time, "Reservoir Dogs" has become a staple of the massive genre of crime films. This film also introduced Quentin Tarantino's trademark direction style, displaying controversial dark humor, well written characters, and an emphasis on violence melded with a genuinely gripping plot of a jewelry heist gone terribly wrong.

Set in an early 90s, crime ridden Los Angeles, the film begins with eight men at a table, eating breakfast, and discussing Madonna.

Blonde shows up to the warehouse, holding a soda, as he stopped at a fast food place in the middle of the chaos, like a professional. A fight almost breaks out between the taunting Mr. Blonde, and the frantic Mr. White, with Pink playing referee, trying to bring peace to the trio so they can find out who was behind the setup at the heist. Mr. Blonde casually remarks that he has a gift for the group, and the other two follow him outside. On the way to his car, Mr. Blonde reveals that he had spoken with their employer, Nice Guy Eddie, stating that he was on his way to the hideout, giving the group reason to stay put. The trunk of the car swings open, to reveal a police officer, taped up, with Blonde commenting that he could answer their questions about the "rat business," the shot then fades to a black title card reading "Mr. Blonde." The audience is given a peek into the relationship Blonde shares with Nice Guy Eddie and his father, Joe, in a scene revealing that Mr. Blonde had just come off of a prison sentence he served for Joe, eliminating him from the list of possible undercovers. The scene finishes by showing Mr. Blonde's being brought into the team. The story continues to the present, following Eddie on his way to the warehouse, switching between …show more content…
Blonde's trunk. Eddie arrives just as the officer is tied up, sparking an arguement between him and Mr. Pink, before Blonde cuts them off to ask about the situation. After the incident is explained, Eddie decides to take White and Pink on a ride to scope out the environment outside, leaving the unstable Mr. Blonde alone with the captive officer. Mr. Blonde disfigures the cop, before grabbing a gas can, and splashing him with gasoline, laughing, until the weakened Mr. Orange finally shoots him. Orange asks the officer taped to a chair in the center of the room what his name is, before revealing that he's the rat, and that there are cops less than a block away, waiting on Eddie and Joe to show up. A title card reading "Mr. Orange," comes on screen, before revealing Orange in a restaraunt discussing the job he had joined with another undercover officer. The scene then transitions to Orange on a rooftop with the same officer, practicing a routine to help him on his first job undercover, with scenes of the event coming on screen at certain points. The film moves on to a car ride shared between a few of the criminals prior to the

Ozekia Wilder Professor Andre ENGL 1102 30 March 2018 Abstract Spike Lee’s film Do the Right Thing imparts a day in a racially mixed neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. In the film Spike Lee demonstrates the different behaviors and cultures amongst the different races in the neighborhood. The film centers on how social class, race and the decisions that the characters make have a direct effect on the way people interact with each other.
