Queenie Volupides was a young beauty whose looks were deceiving. Queenie had an alibi and that was to get rid of her husband. As stated in the passage Queenie “was a sight to behold and to clasp.” Although Queenie stated that he fell, it is found that Queenie is responsible for murdering her husband. The detectives have concluded that she met another man and she had to get rid of her husband so she poisoned him before she went out to the club,layed him over the stairs,and put food on the stove to get rid of the dead body smell. First, the detectives have found out that Queenie has become uninterested in her husband, so That's why she went to the club. Well, her husband found out about her unfaithfulness and he was enraged. As Queenie placed her husband over the stairs, she caught a glimpse of his lifeless eyes and freaked out. Queenie then wanted to get out of the house because she realized what she had done, so she got dressed and went to the club hoping that she would forget about what she had done. Lastly, Queenie became drunk at the country club and told her friends what she had done. They then worked out a scheme to tell the police that her husband was coming down for a drink and he hit his head. Queenie then would come home, and pretend that he had fallen when she was gone. Because they had worked out a scheme, Queenie decided to return to her home. When she got home it smelled like a decaying body,so she covered up the smell by cooking something on the stove. Now based on the information given to us, Queenie is obviously the killer, but what if her husband just slipped? As a rule, usually when you fall down a staircase, you land on your stomach not your back, but her husband was very drunk. He could've been walking up the stairs and just tipped over. That could caused the trauma on his head. The glass was still in his hand and generally when you fall down the stairs whatever is in your hand is going to fall out of it.The cup was still in his hand, so if he did just so happened to it tip over as he was walking up the steps, the cup wouldn't fall out because he was so close to the
