Have you ever wondered why it is so hard for women to be big business owners but it is not the same for men? Living as a citizen of the United States I discovered that I have an overwhelming desire for children’s fashion. Being as a mother of two boys I’ve also noticed the slight struggle parents have to go through while trying to find clothes for their children. As time goes by, this struggle compelled me to think, “what if I had my own company, would I be doing the same thing?” I was constantly being inspired by a female celebrity who opened up my eyes to a bigger world. And from there on the desire evolved into a dream. A dream that will be taken very seriously in trying to bring it to life. As for the struggles that parents are facing, …show more content…
However, being inspired over the years by an outstanding female has changed my whole point of view about my dream. This outstanding woman is Queen Latifah. What many people don’t know about Queen is that other than being an actress, singer, and a rapper, she’s also an entrepreneur. She debuted her own clothing line called the Queen Collection on the Home Shopping Network (HSN) in August 2011. The only difference between what Queen did and what I want to do is that she ventured in the female part of the Industry which is not what I am going to be doing. Research from “The Network Journal” online showed an article called “The Queen Collection” by Ann Brown which described how Queen did a similar expansion of sizes in her clothing for everyone; which is what I want to do for tweens. “The clothes will have a large range of sizes, from 2 to 24.” (The Queen, para.3). She also made affordability one of her top priorities for her clothes, same as I want do. "Queen Latifah’s top priority in designing the collection was to be able to create stylish, comfortable and affordable designs for every woman.” (The Queen, para. …show more content…
The plan after the review is quite simple. If the review is good, then I will open more stores and promote the company by advertising in order to attract a wider variety of people. As to the second step of the company, is to maintain what we produce to the customers in order to keep them loyal to the company. The aim after those two steps have been accomplished is the most difficult one of all the steps. This is the step to go global. A book called the “Business Transformation” by Aiman Zeid and Jim Davis is being used as a guide to achieving this last step. This book describes ways in which a business can move forward and also steps to take in doing so. “What we have learned so far: As organizations move through each level they increase their opportunities to drive down costs, increase revenue, and improve the bottom line.” (Zeid, p.86). However, if the review is bad, then I will have to go back to the drawing board and come up with new plans and ideas that will guide me in reaching to a global level with my

Book Review I like the book Made in America my Story it was well written. I enjoyed reading about Sam Walton’s life, and that his mom was a good motivator who supported him. It was interesting that when he had a lot of money, but found a way that he does not need to spend a lot. I guess it is because he grew up in the great depression era He said, “That’s simple because we should believe in the value of the dollar.” Sam and his family thought that if the money was spent foolishly, it would come out of the customer’s pocket.…

Abraham Lincoln once said “Achievement has no color,” along with a speech stating that the nation “shall have a new birth of freedom,” and will follow the constitution that “all people are created equal” (Wikipedia). Like his cry for equality, a woman by the name of Viola Davis at the Emmy’s, made a similar cry; although she may not be a president addressing the union, textually both have the same message— equality. No baby comes out of the womb hating another human being and as museumtv.com eloquently states, “racism in the United States is binary; you are either someone of color or not.” So why does society allow such a massive problem to continue on? The TV industry has negatively and positively influenced not only women but women of color.…

One of the most memorable moments of World War II (WWII) is, without a doubt, the Holocaust. People tend to talk about the millions of lives that were lost but many fail to mention the people who helped defeat the Nazis. “Like a number of other celebrities, Audrey Hepburn helped fight against the Axis Powers during WWII,” (1). Audrey Hepburn was best known for her starring roles in the movies Sabrina, Funny Face, Breakfast at Tiffany's, My Fair Lady, and Roman Holiday. Not many people are aware of the fact that Hepburn contributed to the Resistance and helped fight against the German Nazis and the Axis Powers.…
