Does the idea of speaking to a total stranger about Christ cause you to get very nervous? Accepting the beliefs of 1st century Christians is important. It is essential that 21st century Christians have the same beliefs as those of the 1st century. Reason being, Christians of the 1st century were the ones who lived closest to the time when Jesus Christ preached, “the Gospel of the Kingdom of God”. A concrete example of this is through Lygia, throughout the movie; we are able to see her dedication to praying. She consistently prays to the Lord. Christians of the 1st Century also taught us to spread the word of the Lord. This is seen through Peter in the movie. He continuously spreads the word of the Lord by preaching. Peter is depicted as someone who believes that Christians may have to suffer for their belief in Jesus. Peter teaches us that Jesus will return to judge those whom God decides are responsible to him. Through Peter, Christians of the 21st century are able to understand what Christians should believe in and how they should behave. Another example of what Christians of the 1st century taught Christians of the 21st century is through Nero. Back the Nero took advantage of his power and used it against Christians. As he was burning Rome, he tortured and blamed the Christians for the act. I feel the message of the film was to teach us to love and care for each other equally, no matter the differing religion one may follow. We must understand that God is always by our sides and he will guide is on the right path to where he wants us to go.
