Quarterback Colin Kaepernick remaining seated for the National Anthem has struck the media with controversy. Many argue that Kaepernick not standing for the National Anthem was a sign of disrespect toward the country he lives in, The United States of America, but, others argue America is a free country and he has the choice of standing or not. In Kaepernick’s defense, the flag represents freedom and justice but, with the Black lives matter movement currently happening, he doesn’t feel the need to stand.
