Quaquela,

Have you ever thought about writing the journey you are taking with your mother? Although, your memory will probably serve you well with every encounter, it is something to think about. You can always go back and reflect on the memories in writing too. Cherish them all! My family support with my grandmother was slim to none. Which made it very overwhelming amongst three or four family members compared to many. Unfortunately, we had to put my grandmother in a nursing facility that specializes in Alzheimer's. She is very well to be 90 years young, as she will say. At first it tore me to pieces, but after several incidents (due to the dementia), lack of family support, or finances to care for her it was the best decision. If possible

The French settlers arrived in Louisiana in the 1800s with their dog beauceron. They told of strange looking dogs with haunting glass eyes that were used by the Indians to hunt game in the swamp. It is thought the Beauceron and Red Wolf/war dog were interbred to produce the Catahoula. One theory as to the origins of the breed states that the Catahoula is thought to have descended from "war dogs" (Mastiffs and Greyhounds) brought to Louisiana by Hernando de Soto in the 16th century. Dogs left behind by the explorer's party were interbred by the local natives with their domestic dogs.…

As we age we start to worry about our family, specifically our parents. Who is going to take care of them, are they going to be able to stay at home, how much assistance are they going to need, is my sibling going to step in and help or am I going to be caring for them by myself? All of these questions can be overwhelming and cannot be answered until they actually happen. As we saw in Angels Preach a lot goes into caregiving and decision making for what is best for are loved one. I thought this movie did a really good job about dismissing the stereotypes to caregiving, but it also show how Alzheimer’s can affect everyone in the family, and how moving elders with Alzheimer’s out of their homes is not the best option.…

5 Conclusion Comparing the Quinceañera and the Sweet 16 celebration, it turns out that they have many points in common but differ as well. Starting with the similarities, both developed through anterior coming of age ceremonies, and are only celebrated by girls. They both are rite of passage ceremonies, which honor the completed childhood of the girl and celebrate the beginning of the new life chapter as a woman. The girls make new experiences and have to face more responsibilities by turning 15, or in the case of America turning 16. The celebrations share several customs which are a symbol of transitioning to a woman.…
