Week 4 Quality Tutorial

Prevention costs:
Preventions costs reduce defects from occurring. These costs will also help lower failure and appraisal costs.
- Training and education of staff (e.g. allow all construction workers to be up to date on how to build the tower. Provide adequate training before the construction of the tower).
- Quality planning and surveying of the tower (e.g. hiring quality inspectors to review the building before construction and hiring more than one inspector to allow for reliable information).
- Supplier material must be to the highest standard.

To this end, we have implemented a regular review system which incorporates meeting with customer representatives, where possible. This is to make certain that the project continues to align with their expectations on quality and scope. These reviews happen four times during the course of the project at important milestones:
• Pre-Project Initiation before planning has begun, where the customer requirements are clearly set out, such that the rest of the project is built around these expectations from the start.
• Pre-Construction Review before construction begins; the project plan is reviewed to ensure it is still aligned with customer expectations.
• Post-Project Evaluation after final delivery of project, where we evaluate the extent to which the project has met the needs of the customers.
• Post-Occupancy Evaluation occurs during the service component of our project, making sure that the project continues to meet customer requirements at a high level of

The goal is to reduce negative findings to zero on subsequent assessments dealing with a specific part of the project.

- Familiarise operational resources with project technology:
Functional managers/experienced engineers/project managers should deliver training and lectures about the specific components of the 4G tower. Instructive advice should be about: the tower construction architecture/ software/hardware instalments should be provided regularly (a few times each week) to ensure that the workers understand the scope and project construction extensively before commencing operation on each process of the 4G tower.
Active workshops focussing on constructing a model of the 4G tower should be available for everyone after these talks to further consolidate the workers knowledge so that the 4G tower can be built of the highest quality (less faults as possible).

- Keep up to date with the latest software and hardware of highest
