Quality Matters is recognized as a leader in quality assurance in online education. Over the past six months, ONU Global has worked very hard to align our course development process with Quality Matters. This is no small task, and we still have much work to do! We have made many updates to our templates and curriculum development resources that will help to ensure the alignment of our courses with QM standards. Our strategy is to implement consistent course quality standards by incorporating a peer review process utilizing the QM rubric. In the past, we have faced challenges in curriculum development such as buy-in to our ID process from internal stakeholders, perceived subjective standards in the ID process, and subject matter expert accountability

Dr. Van Heemst was our subject matter expert and course representative. Dr. Van Heemst provided a well written, quality course and it was a pleasure to have him on the ONU Global team. Due to the collegial nature of QM, the peer review process revealed areas of opportunity to make his already great course, better. What does that mean for you? It means that I can use official QM resources to lead our own ONU Global APPQMR workshop at a fraction of the cost. Typically, the workshop costs $200.00, but you will have a chance to participate in the workshop for free. This is a valuable and recognized piece of professional development in the world of online course design and delivery. The more of you that participate in the course, the larger my pool of course reviewers becomes, and the number of courses that can go through informal reviews increases. This will translate into higher quality online courses for Olivet, a better online experience for our students, and increased perceived value in our product from external partners once we begin formal
