Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) main goal is to strengthen the nurse, patient, and family relationship, while also addressing communication and safety issues. The Nursing leaders started with making six competencies and then under each competency they came up with knowledge, skills and attitudes that are required with each competency (Brady, 2011). The Idea was to have every nurse having the appropriate knowledge. The break down goes even further with the nursing advisors specifying which attitudes, skills, and knowledge are relevant for pre licensure teaching and graduate studies.
