Being responsible is so important because there are many times that one would need to provide for themselves and they might have to make choices that could alter the future. These choices would be better made with the quality of responsibility. A convincing argument that responsibility is very important and makes a great president is when President Lincoln was able to balance supporting his family alongside supporting the country. Supporting a family is an enormous position and President Lincoln continues to be encouraging and appreciative of his family. Not only was President Lincoln supporting his family but he was also supporting an entire 3.8 million square foot country. The responsibility that is required to accomplish these two feats is a profession that only a few people that are responsible enough bear have on their shoulders. According to the Oxford dictionary, Responsibility is the state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone. This is exactly was President Lincoln has done. He would be one of the perfect examples of a responsible person. Another perfect example of responsibility is when President Franklin D. Roosevelt said “Great power involves great responsibility”. This was a good example because he says in his quote that one with great power is required great responsibility. As the president, FDR had great responsibility no matter if he wanted to or not. This responsibility came with the job just like a candy comes with a wrapper. In this bold statement he pretty much says that he has great responsibility because of his current position as president. One more marvelous reason that responsibility is an important quality for a president to have is because Ronald Reagan was responsible for himself at a young age and later on he had to be responsible for his career, california, and then sometime later for

He wanted blacks to be treated equally, and with his “I have a dream” Speach it helped pass the dream along. You also need to be good at convincing people to agree with your side. If no one wants to vote for your side then your not a good leader.…
