Bradley, your post this week was very insightful, and you provided great examples to support your premise. I like how you identified that some people lack empathy for what law enforcement officers’ face when they do not possess adequate equipment. Additionally, I do not think the public understands that if the equipment were not transferred to a law enforcement agency then it would simply be destroyed. I’d like to believe when this program is utilized that it permits law enforcement agencies to establish other community outreach programs.

Police are here to protect us, so we should give them all the equipment they will need to protect us and themselves. Jaelyne makes a point when she says that we cannot protect ourselves the way the police can with all these equipment because if we did we would go to jail. I agree that Jaelyn makes a few good points on why to support police…

The assignment will reflect on the moral, ethical and legal aspects of pre-hospital care that challenged me during this particular emergency. Since researching this topic, my nursing practice has changed in the way that I interview, assess, and treat my clients. Throughout my education in nursing school I was always taught a more holistic approach, however I was never truly conducting my assessments and interviews with clients within this matter. I am always respectable and caring towards clients, but in my past practices within clinical, my focus was primarily on the disease process and preventing the disease from worsening. Within this semester I have improved my practice, with the help of this research, to not only treat the disease process, but to use the same focus as CAM and treat the person as a whole. I found this to also help in establishing better client-caregiver relationships.…

The following question will look at the transmediated discourse of racist ideologies presented in the video game in question. This semester I have also been in a women’s studies class that looks at women’s agency in the Middle East, I even wrote a paper about female artist living in exile of Iran so I have become very sympathetic to the structure of women in the Middle East. In the class we discussed the messages of Islamic text and how they were very often misinterpreted to give men the larger end of the stick. However, there were a large number of cases where men protested with women to gain equal rights. After reading the article linked I have to say it was extremely upsetting.…

Individaul I liked the way the practioner was able to notice that Sarah looked so tied after seeing her again after four months since they held a meeting. The practioner did well when she asked Sarah if she could visit her when she goes to hospice. 2. What do you think were the strengths of the practitioner's skills? The practioner was able to listen to clients feeling towards her end time arrangements and I liked the way she was strong that she wasn’t moved when the client started talking about her death arrangement.…

Before the assessment I inform Mr D and Mrs V fully on the process and what the assessment was for and to clarify any misunderstandings. Also, I explained what my role was in this process before the assessment began. The questionnaire indicates how well the individual is going in different aspects of their life and my role is to clarify and get a clear picture of the needs of the individual encompassing social, emotional and relationship needs, as well as difficulties which they may have. I stated that any questions they prefer not to answer would be up to them, all the information is kept secure and only individuals assigned to their care will have access to the information. The approaches we’ve discussed in this course in regard to action, the causal approach and the qualitative approach, are each worthy of fierce debate. Despite the persuasiveness of each, I believe there is one that is slightly more attractive than the other. Charles Taylor characterized these two general approaches as looking for an answer to, “what is the nature of action? Or otherwise put, what distinguishes (human) action from other kinds of events” (Taylor, pg. 77-78)?…

Without even looking, I knew Renz, my best friend, was watching me from the window of his house, all teary-eyed. He was like the brother I never had; I knew him since I was a small baby. Suddenly, I started thinking about all the family and friends I would never see again but I still managed to keep my composure. I was sitting in my grandfather’s car, ready to travel to the airport and move to the United States. What ultimately ended up breaking me was when we started driving.…

I moved here to Amory from Passaic, New Jersey when I was 5 years old. The school year had already started and I was placed in Mrs. Haney’s kindergarten class and took speech class for my lisp. I came in march but adjusting and making friends at that age was easy; but I was learning on a total different curriculum in Passaic, which at the time focused on keeping us from discriminating against the other kids we went to school with in our widely diverse community in kindergarten and a rigorous reading program in first grade, which I did not get to attend. Kindergarten was graded on such an easy scale that it went unnoticed that I could only recognize a few words. During the summer I went to day camps at West Amory Community Center.…

The mosaic, complex and sophisticated structure of the Homo Sapiens body is a unique beauty. However, when witnessing my mother degenerating due to leukaemia, it showed that complexity inevitably meant that problems arise. I became aware of the effects such illness can have on the patient suffering and their families who will be suffering twice as much and appreciate how satisfying being a doctor would be in such difficult circumstances. Having experienced first-hand how varied a doctor’s job can be; not just in prescribing drugs or carrying out surgery but also empathy and compassion being keys to delivering an effective and professional care. This fact was highlighted during a period of shadowing a psychiatrist in a department of the NHS medical practice.…

    • Explain the importance of reflective practice in continuously improving the quality of service provided. The importance of reflective practice to improve the quality of the service we provide it is to focus on what has worked well and what needs improving. Also for us to use a different approach and to apply it when needed. We may need to consider new approaches and new ways of learning to help us develop and progress in our careers, and achieve a greater self awareness and the best support we can provide to the people we support, meeting care standards and expectations in social care at all times.…

I have a mentor and former professor named Kimberly Mitchell that always reminds her students that in the classroom, whoever is doing the talking is doing the thinking. She runs a start-up that focuses on integrating inquiry into the classroom by looking at the statistics of that same notion; by recording and analyzing the time the teacher and the students spend talking in a classroom, she argues educators can get a better glimpse into how their students are receiving the lessons they plan. My understanding of inquiry is deeply rooted in this mantra. As I understand it, the goal at the heart of inquiry is to teach both content and process within the same lesson in a way that requires students to actively engage with the material and with each…
