2. GEOGRAPHICAL SETTING
The study area is located in a mountain range in the southern part of the Nuevo León state, northeastern Mexico, between 24°02’13’’-24°02’16’’ N and 100°02’54’’-100°03’16’’ W. The studied sequences are exposed in Los Mimbres locality, placed in the neighborhood of La Soledad town, approximately 1100 m to the south of El Mimbre stream (Figure 1A). Geologically, belongs to the physiographic sub-province of the Sierras Bajas, which is part of the Sierra Madre Oriental province (Raisz, 1964).
3. MATERIALS AND METHODS
The material analyzed come from four stratigraphic sections measured and sampled in Los Mimbres, Nuevo León (Figure 1). Rock hand samples were collected from each section, exercising caution
