Qiu Qi was crucial in the choreographing of the dance steps and the execution of this massive project as she led and managed two classes of students in preparation for their performances. Beyond dealing with her peers and the students of Cherie Heart, Qiu Qi also had to manage all communications with the main organisation. Through this experience, Qiu Qi had the opportunity to hone and refine her communication skills, and showed excellent interpersonal skills in the way she dealt with the organisation and her peers. Qiu Qi worked closely with Action for Singapore Dogs in 2012 to raise awareness of animal abuse. In volunteering with Action for Singapore Dogs, Qiu Qi demonstrated strong coordination abilities as she organised events and communicated with the organisation as she worked closely with them. She also volunteered with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in 2013 and came out with an educational video that helped to raise awareness about animal abandonment. During these events, Qiu Qi showed great empathy and demonstrated strong leadership capability as she took up the task to lead the other members in gathering information so as to have a better understanding of the situation on the ground. In addition, Qiu Qi also worked with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) under the Imagineering Programme in an attempt to improve the commuter experience. Using Design Thinking, Qiu Qi applied different approaches to create human centric solutions in order to create welfare for the target groups. Even though she had faced some difficulties and failures during the making of prototype, Qiu Qi stayed positive and persevered as she learnt from her failures and improved on them.
