Qantas is the world’s second oldest airline, and this is due to the four hubs located in Sydney,

Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Qantas does use other hubs with Jet Transport Express, Jetstar,
and their domestic Australian joint ventures. In 2014, Sydney was ranked number one with the
worst congestion and service for passenger experience (AFR, 2014). The Australian Consumer
Commission stated that the country needs to invest more money to resolve the ongoing issue
with congestion, which will help with the continued growth of the Qantas’s future passengers
and doing this will improve customer service. With the Qantas growing the company will also
need to enlarge the capacity of the airports.A recent report from Qantas …show more content…
With the new Transport Minister Duncan Gay, he stated as of February 18, 2016, that an airport
traffic coordination will coordinate the managing of the airport traffic flow, and will have an
action plan to implement new changes over the next few months to prepare for the airports busy
peaks.
In early 2013, Qantas wanted to split from Singapore to pursue services in Dubai and would
reduce the total Changi capacity more than 2%. Qantas currently accounts for more than 16% of
the capacity in Singapore-Western Europe market, and the Singapore-Europe hoped with the
Qantas split traffic congestion would shrink (CAPA, 2013). From 2009 to 2012 the Changi grew
more than 35% in annual passenger traffic. That is a 9.5% growth over a four-year span. With
that being said. EASA expects Qantas Airways Ltd to outperform the market in growth within
the next three years. Consensus predicts that Qantas will grow up to 33%, averaging about 11%
each year and will see a small drop in the middle of 2017.

With Qantas being a domestic and international airline the company has connections all over the
world. Qantas has a historical growth rate average of 1.57% since 2012 but as mention EASA
does expect a huge jump in the airlines passenger growth with the reconstruction of the airport
and road layouts. What one of Qantas’s hubs is doing to support this growth and reduce
congestion is at the airport is to allow more options to be available to passengers and the public
driving is will be to offer better means of transportation. Since 2010, Perth has had a new transit
system in development. The transit system will allow public transit to be available through rapid
bus and light railway transits (Committee for Perth, 2015). Utilizing these means
