As a future nurse, it is important to understand the importance of research in the nursing field. The overall goal for the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) is to prepare the future and practicing nurses to meet the high level of knowledge and skills to improve the structure of healthcare systems where there is no room for errors. Essentially, QSEN is providing nurses the evidence based practice to eliminate any minor errors or glitches and to maintain the finest health care. QSEN provides guidelines to prepare the future nurses to establish the characteristics and to be proficient in patient-centered care, teamwork collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, safety and informatics (Cronenwett, Sherwood, Barnsteiner, Disch, Johnson, Mitchell, Sullivan & Warren, 2007). Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to elaborate the research article, Animal-Assisted Activity among Patients with Cancer: Effects on Mood, Fatigue, Self-Perceived Health and Sense of Coherence in relation to QSEN in creating a work environment that is based on patient centered and research based.
