Covey’s habit 3 and 4 are First Things First which is about the practice of priorities in time management in a private victory and habit 4 is Think Win-Win which is about a public victory balancing courage and empathic in relationships. Habit 3 reminds me of putting God first. He is my center and sound principle. Habit 4 is reaching out to my neighbor that is a win-win. I am reminded to love my neighbor as myself. In addition win-win is a excellent way of thinking about my neighbor first.

I want Jesus to be glorified in the Urgent, so I will walk toward the Urgent and the hurting and the people who are poor, poor in life and poor in Spirit. I will walk toward the pain of another’s life as they struggle with cancer, losing their home, hungry and without hope. I will be present to those whom I see around me that are in a struggle of Urgency. This is a priority for me because this is a priority for Jesus. The life of Jesus is filled with urgencies with people desiring to be healed, the poor wanting to feed, the downcast and without hope. Also, when I look at Quadrant II, I am reminded that interruptions that seem trivial may be the opportunity to love someone by listening. Just because it is trivial to me does not mean that through the leading of the Spirit that I cannot stop and listen. Pleasant activities are ways that we are invited to take joy in ourselves and the way God created us. Trivia, busy work is always welcomed when we are spending time with friends. All of these places are places where God will and does invite into, not one quadrant is worth more than another. Listening to the Spirit of God invites each of into these worthy places for His purpose. I worked through Covey’s planner and I wrote out my schedule. Although, if something urgent came up, I would drop everything to go and meet a friend who is in trouble and I would pray with them and sit with them.
