Improved Essays
First, let me say that there are a lot of styles of necklaces, at least if you describe a necklace as the whole combo –chain plus anything added to it. The types I describe as “push present necklaces” for the sake of this article are ones that are easily linked to the birthing occasion in some way OR styles that are considered classics, appropriate for any occasion.

If you are leaning toward buying a necklace, by the end of this article you should be able to narrow your search to a particular type and have the ability to go out and make a selection.

I'll give you a synopsis of 8 types, some places to find them, along with a few clickable photos as visuals. Stick around to the end of the article where I give a 6 step process for making a selection.

As a push present name plate, you can go with the option of having the baby’s name spelled out as a stand-alone plate or have the name engraved on a bar.

The engraved bar necklace is my favorite style for showcasing a name. It is unassuming, elegant and is a great necklace for wearing alone or creating a layered look.

Celebs with all different styles have found a way to rock the name plate accessory and she will too!

Where to find them: Etsy, Amazon, Efy Tal, Things Remembered

Baby symbols

Another way to go is with baby symbols. If she adores little figures and charms, then this is a great option. Some types can be personalized with initials or birth dates.

Here are some ideas that will have her reflecting on her own little one every time she wears it.

Search engines like Google and Bing maybe also be helpful if you change to the "image" setting and type in the necklace type. You can then browse the images and connect with the seller's website. *Beware, items found this way do not always lead to the seller and when they do the items are not guaranteed to be available.

Of course, brick and mortar stores are another option that may limit where you can go, but have the advantage of tangibility. Have a clerk point you to the necklaces in the category and price range you have chosen.
#5 Customize (if necessary)

If the gift can be engraved or personalized in some way -go for it! It's a great way to go deep and really touch her heart. Some things you can add are noted above, but here they are again with a couple of additions.

Initials Baby Name Baby's birthday Mommy Hubby Initial + Mommy initial = Child's Initial (Example: J + S = L) A meaningful saying or word (Example: think "dido" from the movie Ghost or the word "complete" to represent what having a child means to your family) Symbol (Example: infinity symbol ∞ or an Asian language

In some families there are certain objects that are passed on from generation to generation. A three golden chained emerald necklace was the precious object passed on. In the Garth family, Celia’s parents had died and passed on an emerald necklace to Celia, which her father had given her mother when they got married. This necklace had been passed from generation to generation ever since the first Garths came over from England. The necklace has three parts that are important to the book Celia Garth by Gwen Bristow: the emerald shows the poison in Celia’s life, the color green displays toughness and masculinity, and the gold chains symbolize Celia being generous by giving the necklace over to Roy, her cousin, and the success of Roy getting…
