Life is often referred to as a hand in a deck of cards, and that “it is what it is”; while some may call this settling, not only truly accepting what is given, but being content with what you have is the utmost virtuous way to happiness. The pursuit of happiness is a never ending cycle of being content and then uncontent, yet religion, ignorance and ending inherent greed help rid one of the burden of the pursuit.
The pursuit of happiness is embedded in the nature of humans, creating a constant, unquenchable thirst for something more. That something more varies between every human. Some try and find happiness in material objects, others in the hierarchal position of their job, and some in the happiness of friends and family. Yet regardless

One of the seven deadly sins from the Holy Bible is greed, a crime to be excessively acquisitive, yet all of the seven deadly sins can be related back to greed. Lust is a form of greed, for desiring someone or something not rightfully theirs.It is a perverse form of love, wanting someone just for the fact that they are there to fill an “appetite”, but this “appetite” is of a greedy descent. Greed can also be seen in another deadly sin, gluttony. Excessively eating, drinking, or anything in too much of a quantity to pleasurable, consuming just to consume, is rightfully of wanting to be greedy, for if someone has too much, it can be assumed that someone else will not have enough. Gluttony is a section of greed, for it is about a lack of self-control. Laziness can be seen as greed as well, because to not perform necessary measures for survival and societal needs. In most developed countries, there is a form of government which helps those who can not be employed, either because they are disabled or unable to find a job. Though this is a vital part of society, to help the unfortunate live a stable life and be able to get back on their feet, sometimes laziness can lead to one becoming overly reliant on this social welfare. Taking advantage of the government is both lazy and greedy. Wrath, or extreme anger, another deadly sin can be related to greed, for it is a lack of self control and an excessive use of emotions. Envy is a form of greed, for it is the extreme desire for the belongings or success of another. Lastly, greed can be seen in the deadly sin of pride, believing one is essentially better than others and the excessive admiration of oneself. This is a form of greed because being too self absorbed takes away the ability to be compassionate for others; when pride overrules the pleasure to please others, then it becomes greed.
