Pursuit Of Freedom

The thought of a life without freedom is unimaginable to most Americans. Each day, we live our lives, with shallow complaints, taking for granted the simple freedoms that we enjoy. It isn’t often that we reflect on how we came to enjoy our freedom of choice, and it most certainly takes a tragic event to awaken our awareness of those who place their time, efforts, and lives at risk to ensure our existence as we know it to be. Events such as September 11, awaken us long enough to bond and appreciate, yet somehow, we seem to drift back to our everyday lives, forgetting the lesson we claimed to have learned. Our veterans, those who once held the key to continued freedom, deserve our appreciation , respect, and support, for without them, we would not be where we are today. Many reasons send us to war or battlefronts and with the political aspect, comes support and opposition. To me, regardless of the reasons we enter into these battles, it is a necessity to support our troops, which one day will hopefully make it home to retire and enjoy the freedoms they deserve as veterans; the freedoms they fought to give each one of us.
