3. My mom and I emigrated from Russia to the US ten years ago. She wanted to give me greater opportunities, and she did, but it hasn’t been easy. My mom currently works two jobs, spending all her days at work trying to provide for the two of us. My mom always told me that she wouldn’t be able to pay for college and so I studied and studied, so that I could get scholarships. At the end, I was successful. Currently my college is being financed by academic scholarships, and every semester I hope that I have enough scholarships so that I can continue pursuing my studies.
