Pursuing A Sport

Great Essays
When I was growing up I loved everything about sports. I wanted to play every sport I possibly could. I loved the thought of one day getting so good at a sport I could be on a professional team. I wanted to play everything, I just needed to find the sport I loved the most. I decided to start with gymnastics. I thought it would be a good place to start, it would be easy. I did that for a few years and then I stopped because I lost the love for it. Then my mom decided it would be a good idea to get me into cheerleading. Little to say, that didn’t last long. I didn’t have a soccer season so I just spent it practicing with some friends. Most of my friends that I made from soccer decided to try out for the high school team instead of continuing to play for club. My best friend at the time convinced me to also try out for the high school team, even though I knew I would benefit more if I continued to play for a club. I wanted to stick with my friends. Final bell rang and we went to the locker room and out to the pitch. We did some warm ups and we had a little scrimmage. When practice ended coach was going to tell us who made JV and who made varsity. I was absolutely freaking out. He went through everyone and stopped naming and there was about 4 people, plus me left. I wasn’t too sure what was happening at the time because I didn’t really want to accept it. The coach pulled me and the other four into another group and told us the news. We didn’t make it. It was immediate heartbreak. I didn’t know what to do, I just

Bam, the ball hit my head, the girl hit my head, and then my head hit the ground and I knew it was all over from there. The day my soccer career ended will be a day that I never forget.
