My knowledge on this comes from a family/church friend who is a surgeon and just recently won the North Carolina Surgeon of the Year award. I have always been interested in being a doctor since I was little. I practically grew up in a hospital being that my Aunt was admitted to Wake Forest Baptist weekly. I always watched the nurses giving Carey her medicine and telling me it was time to go to dialysis, meaning for me, it was time to go home. Surgeons have multiple tasks to complete during day and night shifts. One is that they must complete rounds early in the morning. This means that they must do checkups on their patients and study their charts. My parents are very happy and excited to help me go to college because they didn’t go for a full semester and I think that they are proud of my decision.
Conclusion
Most kids wanted to be a princess or a firefighter but I wanted to be surgeon. I want to pick up a scalpel and fix people. Although, there are hard parts of this job, like telling someone how much longer they’ll live or telling someone’s loved one that you did everything you could, but I feel like i’m right for this job. My goal for this paper was definitely met. I feel much more prepared, my parents are more alert to the new college savings and overall, I know what i’m doing. I learned that college isn’t just more school to go through, it gets you where you want to be in life. The hardest part for me was keeping my rough draft equivalent with my typed paper because as i’m typing, I generally think of things I need to add or I just type what comes to mind. My rough draft looks completely different from this copy.I’m definitely using this website to help my little sister in a couple of years.
