Pursuing A Career In Art: Personal Statement

My interest in art begins at a young age, art was introduced by my mother with projects from interior design to creating paintings for family friends houses. As i grew up being independent and encouraged to continue with art as a hobby my passion for all aspects of art grew. I grew up being home schooled up until the 9th grade where i was free to pursue more art and concentrate on finding strengths in art. During elementary school i experimented with fiber arts and fashion as an art form. I begun to grow an interest in a fashion related career and an academic career at FiDM in Los Angeles, as years went on i began to question a career as a fashion designer which later brought me to research fashion education and production.
In junior high i found the production of a fashion shoot far more interesting than the product and grew a large interest for fashion styling in an editorial setting, while doing so i began to pick up photography. Photography has been around me from a very

Since a very young age, art has always been one of my major interests. I found joy in getting my hands messy with the paint and then transforming a white piece of paper into a something more than that with a rainbow of colors. In school, I always made sure to take all the possible art classes that were available and would fit my schedule. I also began to get more in involved in after school clubs such as the National Art Honor Society and the SmART Club where we did several art projects every week. On my last year of high school I decided to challenge myself and I took AP Studio Art: Drawing Portfolio.…

College is a life changing investment that prepares for life and career. The vast spectrum of knowledge, skills obtained, and experiences from a college degree more than compensates for the monetary cost of tuition. Creating art is my passion; I have always wanted to become a great artist ever since I was a child drawing on my walls and copying pictures from books. I have devoted my life to improving my talents by illustrating my own stories, practicing drawing daily, and challenging myself to earning my own money doing what I love by drawing commissions. Learning how to communicate through illustration is a valuable skill that will live with me for the rest of my life and progressing my artist career.…

I believe the Hair Design Centre is the place for me because I've never felt like I fit in anywhere before, but the moment I walked into the Hair Design Centre for my Co-Op interview, I felt like this is where I am suppose to be. I've always had a strong passion for hair design ever since I can remember. As a child, I would find ways to curl hair since I wasn't aloud to use hot tools yet. I would take a can of hair spray, coloured pencils, and wrap my cousin's hair around the pencils, spraying her hair with hair spray to create curls.…

Two summers ago, I experienced an epiphany in the Contarelli Chapel in the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome. While I am certainly not the first to have had a revelatory experience there, mine was not of the religious kind. Rather, mine was the illuminating realization that my path leads where my dual and symbiotic passions for history and art have been inexorably guiding me my entire young life. I have long been fascinated by the past and drawn to museums and other repositories of the past. The first time I breathed the chill conditioned air of the American Museum of Natural History, my father had to lift me on his shoulders to give me an unobstructed view of the fossil remains of a triceratops.…

After taking the quiz I scored a 23 in the artistic category, this did not come as a surprise to me. I have been interested in the arts for about four and a half years so far and so far my experiences have been amazing! Although I have been a part of many different kinds of arts like acting, singing, and painting, music is my favorite. It doesn't matter whether I am helping somebody learn or just making music myself, I love it. I think I would enjoy most artistic jobs, but I would really like to be a music teacher.…

My first ever art experience was doodling on a piece of paper when I knew how to hold a pencil. I don’t know where this artist gene came from, since all my family members worked in engineering or business. I am happy that my mom stands by my side all the time, and even encouraged me to go to an art school when I had no plan for my future college. My focus in this school, The School of Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), is visual communication.…

By definition, an artist is "a person who creates art." It seems pretty simple, but to me truly being an artist is so much more. Being an artist means creating something that makes somebody feel. Being an artist means forgetting limits and boundaries and letting your imagination flow freely onto the canvas. Being an artist means exploring and expressing yourself and your emotions, whether it be through painting, drawing, or sculpting.…

My hands mingling over the crayons lying all over the bed-sheets, trying to fetch that one particular colour for bringing out the shades in the grass of the park which was canvased on a piece of chart paper, right of an A3 size.
