Throughout adolescence, children are asked ‘what do you want to be when you grow up?’, and there is always a wide variety of answers, such as a police officer, a professional athlete, an astronaut. One of the conveniences of being a child is not having to worry about a mortgage, a car, and a responsibility to put food on the table. As we grow older, we get a dose of reality, we begin to worry about more aspects to a career than the childish principles of it sounding ‘cool’ or ‘fun’. Each job presents their own unique challenges and opportunities, some are accompanied by tasks that are easily accomplished when others demand a high level of effort and focus. Few careers offer a notable amount of reward for your work, but in all honesty, what is the point of having such a high-paying job if you don’t even enjoy what you’re doing? There is two main groups “aeronautical engineers (who work primarily with aircraft) and astronautical engineers (who work primarily with spacecraft)” (“Aerospace Engineer.” Career). The engineers are commonly focused with developing the structures inside and outside these vessels. They can also be responsible for looking over the work of co-workers, looking for any mistakes or misguided creations. Accompanied by working with others and trying to focus on your own work, this career can be complicated, there is a lot of work that incorporates the use of complex math and physics. But, once designs are completed, testing them is a necessity. Most aspects of this career have me enthralled; I’m almost wishing I was an aerospace engineer already.
