The american dream has been going on for a long time and it is a resemblance of strengths through tough times in the economy or personal lives too. Just like the stories we have been reading this past year in class shows greatly on the american dream. In the “Mice of Men” for reference it takes place during the great depression which is terrible for the economy and the people living in that time period (Steinbeck). Kind of like in “The Road Not Taken” it is talking about a person walking down a path and comes to where it splits and has the option to go one way or the other way (Frost). When he decides to take one of the paths he finds out that it has leaves all over it and the path isn’t cared for all to much, also he realizes both of the paths lead to the same place so it really wouldn’t matter. That is the literal meaning but it really means that through hard work and maybe not doing what others do it will all lead to the same place. The american dream is like this because many people can think of it differently but it all resembles the same thing through hard work and being successful in
