As outlined in the Code of Ethics (American Nurses Association, 2015), nurses have an obligation to uphold ethical treatment of all, and to advance in the profession while guiding others. The following provisions can be referenced in relation to a practice change: Code 1.5: The nurse will develop therapeutic relationships with colleagues and others by assisting with the development, implementation, and teaching of the new purposeful rounding practice. Exemplifying the lead by example strategy encourages others to follow new practice habits.
