Curriculum: Curriculum means what has to be taught throughout the year. When I hear the word curriculum, I think about lesson plans that are taught throughout the year. The true definition of Curriculum is “The school experiences, both planned and unplanned, that enhance the education and growth of students” (Parkway). Students need motivation in order to get excited about school. They need the encouragement to succeed. I will motivate my students by going around and helping them. If they do not get what they are doing, I will help them by showing them what they are doing wrong and I will correct them by showing them the right way. What motivates me are my parents, and my dream to go to school and be a teacher. I want to make a great life for myself and to inspire the children I will teach.
The result in an unmotivated student is high rates of kids dropping out of school. They do not want to do their work. They do not have any motivation. That is why it is teacher’s job to make sure that does not happen. According to Carlton, Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education at Southern Illinois University, persistence is one way to show a kid you care, which in return will motivate them.
