My purpose for going to college is more than just getting a better education. I’m fiercely determined to do better than my parents by finishing college. I have to see this dream into a reality, so all of my time, energy, and work isn’t squandered. At Iowa, I will study Biomedical Sciences as well as either double major or minor in math. In addition, I plan to remain involved through intramural sports, video game clubs, starting an Airsoft club with some friends, community service, and rigorous studying. In the future, I expect to use my PH.D. in life sciences to pursue a career as a Medical Scientist. I would focus on researching cures for cancer and Alzheimer’s because both of these diseases have plagued my family, hence affecting me.
