After his surgery, every weekend my family would go over to his house and to give him some company because he couldn't do anything; so he was usually very bored. But after a few weeks, my grandfather was just like himself again. Almost every weekend my father’s mom and dad comes over to our house to just stay for a day. Whenever they come, it makes my house feel warmer and cozier, but my grandmother has a hard time moving around because her back was injured in a car accident. My grandmother also loves to help clean my house, so I have to watch her carefully to make sure she doesn't get hurt. Overall, I helped my grandparents for two hours. Helping my grandparents out helps me understand what it’s like to visit the sick and take care of them like Jesus

In order to raise money for prom this year, I accompanied the class of 2019, for 5.5 hours, to a west point game and worked in concessions. I had a great experience working with my peers to achieve a goal that would benefit the senior class. Recently I have engaged in service with my church, for 4 hours, helping to move furniture while they were switching locations. From this experience I learned that sacrificing my time for a communal effort may seem minuscule, but ultimately helps increase efficiency. Also I volunteered at the annual Easter egg hunt at memorial park last weekend for 3.5 hours.…

Without thinking twice, my parents rearranged their lives to take care of him. Owning their own business then, my dad took on endless hours of work while my mom spent all day with my grandpa - ushering him from one doctor’s visit to the next, making him homemade meals, and helping him keep up his house. Eventually, cancer, the radiation, and the chemo made him too sick to stay at home, so he moved into a nursing facility. Because his own family couldn’t be with him, my parents continued to spend daily with him, and in turn, I did as well. My parents took it upon themselves to do everything they could to make his life easier and more comfortable.…
