Puritans came to America to escape persecution and to establish a new sect in which godś laws. the bible and it's message were above mans laws the bible was the key to salvation that’s what puritans believed. The settled, they establish a close-knit community governed by religious faith and strict discipline. Puritans believe that the bible was going to save them, they wanted a better life that why they moved to America and they wanted to be close to god. God and his son Jesus Christ was what the Puritans believed in. As of today things have change sence then.

In today’s society, people go to church to be close to god as much as possible like the puritans . In today’s society people believe in predestination just like people back then people see you if you were born to do good and be saved by good believe that you're going to go to hell for the sin that you committ.
